The gas is conveyed from a tank, bundle of cylinders or gas cylinders via a pipe system to different gas outlets in the hospital.
The central gas system may consist of:
Medical oxygen in liquid form in containers and in compressed form in gas cylinders/bundles of cylinders in a reserve stock.
Nitrous oxide in gas cylinders.
Medical breathing air from the hospital's own compressors or via gas cylinders/bundles of cylinders.
Medical device gases at the user concerned, e.g. laboratories.
